NUB: New Urban Body on Windows Pc

NUB is a design experience that simulates the process of defining a hybrid building. Made specially for the exhibition NUB: new urban body, offers visitors the chance to meet with the design and implementation of its own hybrid project personnel complex, on the one hand by applying and being inspired by the content presented in the various sections, the other following their sensitivity and knowledge. Always clashing with the multiplicity of variables that this generative process, albeit simplified, must govern.

At the beginning of the way, players are invited to choose from a map / catalog area with clearly defined characteristics that can be consulted and also mentioned during the later stages of the game. Along the way they are presented a series of choices that divided up the project in detail. It begins with the selection of the functions and types, to pass - by reasoning on the partners to be involved and on economically significant elements to be included in the project - to define the socio-economic performance of the initiative, around which a final evaluation will be built and a synthesis scenario will remain the participant, you experience it. The path is not completely linear, to hinder the achievement of this target will have to overcome unforeseen limits and that the system generates on the basis of the choices made by the player which in turn will have to implement the design strategies to ensure social balance and economic interest of their project.

The gaming experience is an integral part of the show and serves to realize directly some of its contents.

But what we mean by multi-functional urban bodies?
The concept of living is rapidly evolving: increasingly spreads the aptitude to live the time, space and the property fluidly and strategic, in tune with daily tasks. These new ways of living, working, meet and enjoy the services are reflected in the evolution of the city, and more and more often we are faced with multifunctional urban bodies which, as independent parts of a single body, are able to respond a flexible and adaptive to the need for everyone to build their own daily schedule, which can be organized according to time and dynamic ways, using from time to time of all that the city can offer.
If we think of the different places in which we happen to work and to produce - at our office or that of others, the house, the bar - or if we look at how the times of the family are organized according to an articulated plot involving neighborhood networks, parental networks, public and private places (socialstreet, neighborhood houses, schools, community hub), we realize that different lifestyles corresponds to a different way of use of space and time organization.
The multifunctional urban organisms respond to these needs and are naturally spreading in cities, representing an important opportunity for urban development:
    - they are places inhabited by very different people
    - they are used almost at all hours
    - they are motivated by a wide range of activities (work and live, but also to meet and have fun)
    - they are promoted and managed by different actors, public and private, local organizations and citizens
    - they are easily accessible by different modes of supply: free of charge, according to consumption, contract
    - they are usable on different time scales (in hours, days, months, years)
    - they are places that operate on different levels: local and global, physical and virtual
    - they are geared to economic, social and environmental.
