Duo Cards is based on one of the best selling card games in the world and follows the original rules with all the fun and frustration they may cause. If you have ever received two “+4” cards in a row you know what utter desperation is.

However this is one of the most fun card games to play with friends. Let’s check out the most important rules:

Every player receives 7 cards that he has to get rid of as quickly as possible. The rest of the cards is stacked up face down. Usually the gameplay follows a clockwise direction. However this may change during a round. But more on that later.

You have to place your cards on the last card you see in the middle. You can either match it by color or by number. So you can place any blue card on another blue card, or you can place a red 9 on a yellow 9.
If you don’t have a matching card, you have to draw a card from the stack.

So far, so good. To spice things up a little, there are action cards. And this is where the fun begins:

Reverse
This changes the gameplay direction from clockwise to counterclockwise or vice versa.

Skip
If this card is placed, the next player will be skipped for this turn.

Draw 2
The next player has to draw two cards and has to skip his turn as well.

Wildcard
This card represents all colors. If you play this one you have to decide which color has to be played by the next player.

Draw 4
Now this is the card with the highest frustration potential. It follows the same rules as the wildcard, except that the next player also has to draw four cards from the stack. This can be a real game changer!

Use these cards strategically to gain a real advantage from them. Your goal is to play out all of your cards. When you are the first player to place his last card on the table, you won the round.

Some general tips:
Before you play your penultimate card you have to announce that you will have only one single card left on your board. You do this by tapping the symbol to your right. It will be highlighted with a golden shimmer as soon as you have to tap it.
If you forget that you will be punished by having to draw two additional cards.

Furthermore it would be wise to try and place your highest cards first. When someone wins a round all remaining cards will be given to him and their numbers will be counted as points. So if you only have low numbers left in your hand, the winner will receive less points.

Have fun with Duo Cards!
