Projects and Communities

The Oreddy App is designed to map onto the actual study programmes undertaken by students. Content is based upon exam board syllabuses. Exams are based on these syllabuses, as are text books and classroom content.

The Oreddy App is built around study projects. However, educationalists know that a child's development (and exam results) benefit from activities and interests outside of the classroom curriculum. For this reason, Oreddy projects (and their associated communities) may also have a sport and social basis.

One, or more, writers maintain a project's content of stories. A story may comprise text, video, images, maps, documents, and links to websites. The stories in a project are organised into bite-sized chunks requiring typically no more than twenty minutes of study time each.

A student may independently use the Oreddy App to learn from the content. However, the real power of the app kicks-in when a community is formed around a project. A community may comprise students, teachers, tutors, and parents.

Students share and discuss project story content. Teachers and tutors may monitor student progress and focus their support in areas where it is needed. Parents may track their children's progress and get involved as they wish.

A community could be based upon current classmates, or it could involve other students outside their current circle. As each project has its own community, students may vary with whom they interact.
Version 5 is a major upgrade that transforms Oreddy into a chat-bot.
