Color My Word is a simple brain teaser which you are given a board full of color names but the color of the text may not match the color name displayed. The objective is to say the color of the text for the whole board as quick as possible.

What makes this app unique compared to the other apps of a similar concept is that Color My Word uses the built in Android Voice Recognition to retrieve your answers. Thus making it the most complete way to get the full effect of this brain teaser on your device.

The premise is based on the Stroop Effect: 'The Stroop effect is a demonstration of interference in the reaction time of a task. When the name of a color (e.g., "blue," "green," or "red") is printed in a color not denoted by the name (e.g., the word "red" printed in blue ink instead of red ink), naming the color of the word takes longer and is more prone to errors than when the color of the ink matches the name of the color.' - Wikipedia

The board can be sized based on your preference, each row has 3 colors. You can pick between 1 and 4 rows.

The 8 colors included are Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Pink, Orange, Gray & White. You can play with anywhere from 2 to all 8 colors to fill the board.
Open to suggestions to add more colors, they just have to be very distinguishable. Black was left out because the background is black.

With the speech recognition there are some mishaps along the way and I'm constantly updating the code to fight it. For example sometimes "read" will be picked up instead of "red". Other fixes include glue/blue, light/white & mellow/yellow. If you find that the app is constantly picking up an incorrect word for a color, please email me. I'll update it to work like the ones mentioned above.
