Step By Step Guide To Install Civil War Photos using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen

This app allows you to view and search a collection of photos of the American Civil War, 1861 - 1865, at the Library of Congress and in the public domain. The images are from the original glass plate negatives made under the supervision of Mathew Brady and Alexander Gardner plus additional sources according to the Library of Congress.

On the Main Page, tap a photo thumbnail to view in the Image Page a larger image accompanied by a description and a button to download the jpeg. While viewing the image if you tap the Send Button, you will be able to share the photo via email.

To view a slide show (manual, not automatic) while on the main page, simply tap the 'Slide' button. While viewing the slide show, you, again, may save the image or share the image via email.

To search the entire collection for a word or a phrase (not a collection of words), simply enter the search text in the text box and press the Search icon.";
