I want to show you a simple mathematical formula that can make a big difference in the results you are getting in your life. Maybe you liked math in school, maybe you hated it. Perhaps you are even a mathematician or scientist that will scoff at this idea. I am assuming you, the reader, are familiar with the law of attraction.

Much of the visible and tangible world around us can be described by mathematical formulas. Scientists from the ancient Greeks up through modern quantum physicists derived formulas to describe physical reality. Economists derived more general, less specific formulas to describe the economic world. There is no reason that we can't start to use formulas to describe laws relating to the non-physical realm, as well.

The Attraction Formula

In this article, I will propose a general mathematical relationship of attraction to desire, belief and resistance. It is a simple formula; I have no desire to make this overly complicated:

A = (D x B) ÷ R

Your positive attraction (A) is proportional to desire (D) multiplied by belief (B) divided by resistance (R). Desire is the strength of your wanting. Belief, in this context, refers to affirmative belief that your desire is possible and attainable. Resistance refers to that which is holding you back as evidenced by limiting beliefs.

Let's look a little closer at what this means. If your desire is very high but belief is very low and resistance is high, you will not have a very high attraction level. If your desire and belief are high but so is resistance, it all depends on whether or not desire and belief are strong enough to overcome the resistance you have. If desire and affirmative beliefs are high and resistance is low, you are on your way to manifesting your desire.

For example, you may really want a new car. Your desire is very high. However, if your dominant thoughts are thoughts like "I'll never have it", or "I can't afford it", then you resistance is high and affirmative belief is low. Therefore your attraction level will be extremely low and you will be creating by default.

Using the Formula in Your Life

In order to best harness the power of this formula, let's re-look at how we can affect each of the components. Desire, for the most part, is fixed and generated naturally by the expansion of your experience. There is not any action you can take to increase or decrease your true desire. If you think you are reducing your desire, in fact you are just decreasing your belief that you can attain your desire. If you think you are increasing or ramping up your desire, you are really increasing your resistance. Your affirmative belief about your desire can be changed by visualizing actually having the object of your desire in present time. Resistance, on the other hand, can released using techniques such as meditation. Also the focusing on positive aspects of everything effectively crowds out the resistant limiting beliefs, increasing attraction.

As evidenced by this equation, one of the most powerful things you can do to increase attraction is to release your resistance.
