The Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Women's Rights, the National Cancer Institute, National Health Insurance, and all the institutions and associations are mobilizing against colorectal cancer and raise awareness among people aged 50 to 74 years to the importance of screening.

 With our partners, our primary goal in 2016 is to continue mobilizing both health professionals and the general public around the organized screening, with particular emphasis on the benefits of new colorectal cancer screening test.

 Since April 2015, the national organized screening program offers a new test, the immunoassay replacing the guaiac test. This is based on detecting the presence of human hemoglobin in feces by the use of antibodies. It is more efficient than the previous but also simpler and easier to perform and should allow to increase participation in the screening program.
