The knowledge of intervals is an important element for improvisation and composition. It allows the construction of scales and chords. It is essential for a good musician to know how to recognize the intervals, both written and played.

This completely free app lets you practice interval recognition by offering three activities:

- recognition of written intervals.
- recognition by ear of melodic intervals (each note of the interval is played successively).
- recognition by ear of harmonic intervals (the two notes of the interval are played simultaneously).

All the most common intervals below the octave are included (from the minor second to the major seventh).

Each activity can be configured separately. Four levels are available. To select a level for an activity, touch the settings icon on top-right of the screen. In recognition by ear activities, the question can be heard up to four times.
