The village CHAKAR is situated at South-West end at Guru Gobind Singh road in Ludhiana district. It is under the personal blissful contact of Guru Hargobind Sahib and Guru Gobind Singh, 6th and 10th guru of Sikhs respectively. The village having 7000 population was once the princely state of Ahluwalia misl and Kapurthala province. The records of its ancient commodities ia still available at Kapurthala.

The existing village CHAKAR was originally scattered into the segments of 4-5 places. Sandy mounds of yore give sufficient evidence of this fact. Amidst this segmented area, a mud fortress having 7 towers had been built by Fateh Singh Ahluwalia, grandson of Jassa Singh Ahluwalia, when he came to Jagraon after having dispute with Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The towers of this fortress were safe and sound till 1947. Two out of these 7 towers remained in an authentic condition up to 1960. Afterwards the people from all sandy mounds started dwelling around this fortress. But the right to dwell inside the fortress had only given to the people belonged to ‘Kingra’ gotras and later on their grandson named Jaimal Singh Jaiyd who after leaving his village ‘Patton Hira Singh’ also started living here in this village. The people belonged to ‘Sidhu’ gotras and ‘Sandhu’ gotras started residing in the South and the North directions of the fortress respectively. The East direction of the fortress was surrounded by the people of the mixed gotras. Thus the village divided into four portions which are now known as wards namely ‘Kila’, ‘Sandhu’, ‘Behn
