GPone.com was conceived by Paolo Scalera, an "historic" MotoGP journalist, long time correspondent of Motosprint, and now reporter for Corriere dello Sport, in the autumn of 1999.
The idea was to share the passion of motorcycling, and Grand Prix racing in particular, with users of the internet, by way of a website that was easy to use, timely, accurate and extremely competent.
An agreement reached first with Dorna, and then Infront Motor Sports, allowed GPone.com to use the logos of the two companies granted the television rights from the FIM.
For this reason, from the start, GPone.com was the only site publishing, almost in real time, the official MotoGP timing and results.
