The Manhole Inspection app by SurvAid has been designed, field-tested and refined in conjunction with leading utility surveyors to provide the most effective way to capture site data for manhole surveys.

Whether it be drainage, inspection chambers or any other underground utility, the Manhole Inspection app uses time savers like buttons and drop-down menus as much as possible to cover off all the things you need to record like:

• Project details e.g. job number, client, site etc (can be copied to each new manhole so you only have to enter this once per job

• Location using the device’s GPS hardware

• Cover shape, dimensions, duty etc

• Access methods

• Material, dimensions and condition of the shaft and chamber

• Details of incoming and outgoing pipes/ducts

• Depths of things like soffit, water, silt etc

But more powerful than those is the ability to easily create drag n’ drop chamber sketches and location/connectivity diagrams which can be placed straight into your manhole cards without being recreated or transformed into CAD drawings back in the office.

Combine these with up to four geo-coded photographs per manhole and you build up a comprehensive data set for each manhole with a few taps on the screen of your phone or tablet.

All data can be captured offline if necessary, and once you’re ready it can be uploaded to SurvAid’s cloud platform where the information is available immediately via web browser to whoever needs it.

The web portal will automatically calculate any levels based on cover level minus recorded depths, as well as letting you import a CSV file of position coordinates, edit any fields, upload your own photos/diagrams if necessary and get everything organised for generating the deliverable for your client.

Once you’re ready to go, PDF manhole cards or CSV files for import into your CAD or GIS system can be created at the click of a button and are all customisable to your exact needs.
