In this post, I am going to show you how to install mSMART Medication Aide on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Step By Step Guide To Install mSMART Medication Aide using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. The mSMART app is a smoking cessation and medication adherence app that has been customized to support an ongoing clinical study related to Chantix-based smoking cessation treatment. The clinical study is being administered by the Duke University School of Medicine (DUSM) Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and has been approved by the DUSM Institution Review Board.

The mSMART app is part of a family of medication adherence apps that are being developed to improve patient’s medication adherence rates by using mobile intervention and education.

The content presented in the app was developed by Intelligent Automation, Inc. (IAI), and is based on research, analysis and meta-analysis of various publicly available data sources, medical publications, and interviews of medical practitioners. The content has been reviewed by clinical psychologists at DUSM, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and the DUSM IRB. The application content is owned and copyrighted by Intelligent Automation, Inc.

Once downloaded, only registered users can access the app. A registered user is one who has already been screened by DUSM, signed the required waivers, has met the required inclusion criteria, and is provided with a user ID to access the app. Users not approved for the clinical trial are not provided access and are directed to DUSM to learn about the trial.
