The EWG Conservation Tracker is intended to document the occurrence of specific conservation practices – or the lack of those practices where needed – as outlined in the Conservation Practices reference portion of this guide. The app is designed to highlight both effective and ineffective conservation practices. By employing the practical knowledge of our selected users to identify and document conservation on the ground, we hope to create a visual resource to better communicate the complexities of conservation to the general public. By providing the app, we hope to enable you to employ your expertise to document the “story” of specific practices—from the need for a practice to its implementation, maintenance issues (good and bad), and even removal. While the forms are designed primarily to capture information about the practices listed in the Conservation Practices section, an “other” option is also available should you see another relevant conservation story we hadn’t considered that should be documented. For purposes of this application, we refer to each instance of a practice being reported as a “record” of conservation. The instructions that follow walk you through the process of creating, saving and filing a record report.
