In Japan some official documents ask to describe a year in Japanese-era name, such as Showa, Heisei, instead of Western calendar. This app allows you to compare Western calendar and Japanese calendar at a glance.

The table also contains Earthly Branches info for every year. Earthly Branches (Eto) is kind of the zodiac in Europe. Each animal represents every year. Most Japanese know his/her animal at the birth year. Talking about the animal at birth year can be a good topic for Japanese (no guarantee, though). Age field is the age so far this year.

Touching any year will show the ages counting from the year to the birth year (age 0). For instance if you touch your birth year, you can check the year you reached the age of 20. From v2.1 the app shows life events such as enrollment into school, celebration of specific ages (The event is indigenous to Japan; event name is showed in Japanese).

(NEW feature since v2.0)
Long tapping a year will change the color of the year at random and you can apply a name to the year and can browse them as a list.

Touching the title bar will show a dialog for changing the current year temporarily. For instance if you set the current year to your birth year, you can check the age of your parents at the birth (you should know your parent's birth year).

Complemental info
- You can edit the name by touching the name field at AGE LIST screen
- You can export database file from upper-right menu. The file is exported as Download/agecal.db. Importing DB will overwrite the current data with Download/agecal.db.
v2.8 Added memo feature for name entry at Age View

v2.7 Now importing/exporting DB file uses Android's SAF
e tap will show popup menu for detail and registering-year behavior.
