This application presents the Bible translated into Dioula language (as Jula or dyoula) spoken in southwestern Burkina Faso.
If you press the small "dio" icon on the top right, you can change the windows on the screen: Choose now if you want to see only the Dioula, Dioula or above and parallel version Frenchified down; or a verse in Dioula followed by the same French verse.
You can also listen to the New Testament texts in audio format on your mobile online or you can download the audio files from the Dioula www.bible.is website. When you copy the files of the New Testament Dioula in your memory card, you name this folder "NT Dioula" so you can read and listen to the same verses synchronized or simultaneous way (marked in yellow). Good reading and good listening.
The Old Testament deals mainly with relationship between God and the nation of Israel. The Pentateuch deals with the creation of the nation of Israel and establishing God with Israel, a relationship based on an alliance. The historical books narrate the history of Israel, its victories and success, along with its defeats and failures. Poetic books give us a more intimate perspective on God's relationship with Israel, and his ardent desire to receive the worship and obedience of his people. The prophetic books are God's call to Israel to his people turn from their idolatry and his infidelity and he returns to a relationship of obedience and spiritual fidelity.
Instead of Old Testament, the "First Testament" might be a better title. The term "old" refers to the image of something "old-fashioned" or "that is no longer relevant," which is far from true.
The New Testament is divided into five sections: the Gospels (Matthew to John), the historical section (the book of Acts), the Pauline Epistles (Romans to Philemon), general epistles (Hebrews to Jude) and prophecy (the Book of the Apocalypse). The New Testament was written between 45 and 95 AD Around in Koine Greek dialect (ancient Greek, spoke at the time of the first century AD).
The Gospels give us four different stories (without being in contradiction) of the birth, life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Gospels present Jesus as the Messiah promised in the Old Testament, and lay the foundations of teaching developed in the rest of the New Testament. The Book of Acts records the works of the Apostles of Jesus, men Jesus sent into the world to proclaim the Gospel of salvation. They tell us the beginning of the Church and its rapid growth during the first century after Christ. The Pauline Letters (written by the Apostle Paul), are letters to specific churches, teaching the official Christian doctrine and practice is to follow this doctrine. General Epistles conclude the Pauline Letters by an additional instruction and practice. The book of the Apocalypse prophesies the events that take place at the end of time.
