Macapat is a traditional Javanese song or poem. Each macapat stanza has a sentence line called gatra, and each gatra has a certain number of syllables (teacher numbers), and ends in the sound of the final poem called the song teacher. Macapat with other names can also be found in Balinese, Sasak, Madura and Sundanese cultures. In addition macapat has also been found in Palembang and Banjarmasin.
