Caesar also ordered that every four years, one day be added to February, which could theoretically avoid aberration in this new calendar. Not long before the caesar was killed in 44 BC, he changed the name of the quintilis month by his name, julius or juli. Then, the name of the sextilis month was replaced by the name of the successor julius caesar, emperor augustus, into August.
