In this post, I am going to show you how to install Windsock - Automatic METAR/TAF on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Step By Step Guide To Install Windsock - Automatic METAR/TAF using BlueStacks
- Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
- Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. In order to function, Windsock asks for the following permissions. The purpose of each permission is displayed below for total transparency:
INTERNET: Used to download weather data from the US National Weather Service. Also used to display advertising in the Free version of Windsock.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Used to determine if device is connected to the internet before downloading data.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Used to start automatic updates after device boots, if notifications are enabled.
VIBRATE: Used for Pro notifications.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Allows Pro users to play notification sounds that are located on the SD card.
