Gulli Danda a fun cricket ancient game is an amateur sport said to have evolved in the Indian Sub Continent some 2000-2500 years ago. It is to this day played in small towns and rural areas all over Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
This traditional Pakistani game requires exceptional hand-eye coordination, ability to catch and strong wrists.
Gulli Danda is played with two sticks.
The batsman or dandaman uses the larger stick, the Danda, to strike and raise the smaller, conical Gulli, into the air. He then hits the gulli hard with the danda to throw it as far away away as possible. The fielders have to fetch this gulli and throw it back into the batting circle before the batsman runs to the finish line - to run him out. If they can’t, it’s a score.
