*NEW VERSION 3.0*

In a cardiovascular arrest, seconds count. In Thailand, more than 100,000 people suffer sudden cardiac death every year. In large cities, but also in rural areas, the alarmed rescue service often takes nine minutes or more to reach the patient.

A network of voluntary professional first responders, who can also be called via the GPS-based "First Responder App" before the ambulance arrives, could significantly increase survival. The patient's chance of survival increases by 10% after every additional minute gained.

The "First Responder App" project is based on the fact that volunteers who have the App on their Smartphone installed, can be notified about an emergency that takes place close to their current location. In case of an emergency, the so-called "therapy-free interval" is to be bridged until the arrival of the ambulance. The more volunteers that have registered, the more likely it is that an app rescuer will be in the vicinity of the emergency and will be able to help.
