King James Version is one of the most popular Bibles and most widely used in Brazil, due to its wide acceptance in the Protestant half and half Catholic. The Revised and Updated it was based on the Bible translation version of King James, the NKJV edition 1898; The Revised and Updated was published in 1959 by the Bible Society of Brazil, and is currently one of the most used by Brazilian Protestants and well accepted among Catholics, was the result of thirteen years of work about thirty reviewers, based on the so-called Critical text, and the oldest manuscripts of the Greek and Hebrew available, especially as a source the Bible NKJV, instead of following the traditional Textus Receptus ( "received text"), only available in Almeida season. As for the language, we tried to strike a balance between classical language and popular.

Although considered based on Almeida text, presents itself as a new and very different translation. [1] It retains the classic flavor of old Almeida, but replaced the expressions instead of learning signals, became, in time, archaisms, being in alignment with new archaeological evidence, evidence these reflected in the critical text, differing thus the original of which was used as the base text NKJV, one that still holds the original manuscripts available at the Almeida time.
