This simple application calculates the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) based on the CKD-EPI equation, to evaluate kidney function. It's extremely easy to use: fill in patient's creatinine (mg/dL), age, gender and race and the eGFR is displayed in mL/min/1.73 m2 quickly on the same screen.
The CKD-EPI equation is validated for adults only, and relies on serum creatinine assays standardized to IDMS (isotope dilution mass spectrometry).
The eGFR result should be interpreted by a physician.
Developed on behalf of the Association of Nephrology and Hypertension of El Salvador (ANHAES) as a simple tool to improve early diagnosis of chronic kidney disease.
