This series explores the tragedy also known as the "Year of the War" during Japan's Universal Era in the battle between Japan's Principality of Zeon and the Earth-from-Space Forces (EFSF). The reason for the war between the two countries was that Japan declared itself an independent nation and then tried to launch an independent war. This conflict affects almost every part of the planet, with space colonies on some of the Lagrange points and on the moon.

Japan's first independent war created a weapon in the form of a humanoid robot, which they called a mobile warrior. A number of Jean troops were dispatched to investigate what the EFSF did at a base on Side 7, a space colony. But one of them broke the command and attacked the colony, and led to the weapon developed by the EFSF, called Gundam, by the inhabitants there. Finally, after the sabotage on the seventh surface, the inhabitants became refugees and joined the organization with the help of Earth Federation forces in an attempt to change the state of war on some aircraft carriers called the "White Base" with some EFSF handsets Serve it: RX-78-2 Gundam, Guntank and Guncannon.
