The zombies are coming! Are you brave enough to join the Lowlands zombie apocalypse? Do you think you have what it takes to survive?

The goal of this game is to stay uninfected for as long as possible. But watch out! You and your fellow Lowlands friends are being tracked down by zombies. You see them on the map. They can turn into a zombie you if you come too close. As a zombie your goal is to infect as many other humans as possible. You infect humans by walking around the grounds Lowlands. Infection happens based on the location of the zombie and the victim, proximity and length of time. When you have infected a human, make a selfie together! This will be shown on a big screen at Lowlands. Contenders sign up through the game to Become LowlandZ player in the game. During the Lowlands festival there are multiple playing rounds. Can the humans survive the zombies?

By spreading a virtual epidemic through a mobile game, we are researching how we can Improve the Existing models about spreading infection. In the end, we try to predict the beginning of real life Epidemics faster and better than we are doing now.

The LowlandZ app uses GPS and this battery costs. Using a battery pack while playing the game is advised. Bring your own or visit us at the Lowlands science position to borrow one.

What time you were on a specific location
