ABSTRACT
Critical reflection on the written African literature really began with Roland Lebel in his book The Black Book country, African literature anthology (1927). In close liaison with the socio-political context, they are strongly positions marked with the seal of the colonial ideology on the one hand and on the other, by the desire to break the shackles which basically preside at the reception of the works. The African literary criticism thus born in rooting in the political debate on the colonial problem, which led him to adopt the attitude that commanded the situation. To overcome this situation, we must resolutely engage in the study of these literatures independently for themselves, with the requirement concern for completeness. In the African literary field, these studies should be to stand, not a history of Black African literature, but specific stories of various African literatures.
