With the Peenemünde Monument Landscape app you can explore one of the largest area monuments in Germany. The Peenemünde research institutes were the largest military research center in Europe from 1936 to 1945. On an area of 25 km², up to 12,000 people worked on novel weapon systems, such as the cruise missile Fi103 / "V1" and the world's first large rocket A4 / "V2". Both were designed as weapons of terror against the civilian population, mostly made by forced laborers, and were used as "retaliatory weapons" from 1944 on in the Second World War.

Today the Historical-Technical Museum in the Peenemünder Kraftwerk works on the history of the origin and use of these weapons. The exhibitions document who worked in Peenemünde, how people lived and why the enormously complex weapon projects of the National Socialists were carried out.

The “Monument Landscape” is a public circular route that leads from the museum to 23 historically interesting stations on the former test site. Embark on a journey through time in an authentic place. This app serves as an interactive multimedia guide and offers you exciting insights and background information with many historical photos, film recordings, documents and eyewitness reports. The integrated map view with navigation function helps you to find the stations and contains various tour suggestions. The app can also be used as a general information offering.
The size of the app together with the content (documents & data) is 80 MB.
