The Aalen Optics Formula Calculator provides a quick and easy way to calculate a variety of optical functions.

Currently the following functions are implemented:
- Paraxial raytracing
- Exact raytracing for any beam of light emanating from an axis point
- calculation of skewed cylinders with optional spherical component
- Calculation of refractive indices according to the Schott equation
- Calculation of the relative transmission
- Determination of radii for coma-free glasses and minimal spherical aberration
- Calculation and graphic representation of refractive errors, astigmatism and distortion as well as volume, weight and dimensions of individual spherical ophthalmic lenses
- HSA converter

The app was developed in the context of a bachelor thesis for the degree program ophthalmic optics and audiology of Aalen University. There it serves the students as a calculation control and is also used as a platform for interactive lectures.

The app is ad-free, does not require an internet connection and does not require permissions to access the device.
