In this post, I am going to show you how to install MindReed Launcher on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Before you start, you will need to download the APK/XAPK installer file, you can find download button on top of this page. Save it to easy-to-find location.

Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview of how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your Windows PC and then you can install applications and use it - you see you're playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.

Step By Step Guide To Install MindReed Launcher using BlueStacks

Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen
Once installed, click "MindReed Launcher" icon on the home screen to start using, it'll work like a charm :D

[Note 2] about Bluetooth: At the moment, support for Bluetooth is not available on BlueStacks. Hence, apps that require control of Bluetooth may not work on BlueStacks.

Download & Install NoxPlayer at: https://www.bignox.com. The installation is easy to carry out.

This launcher learns how you use your device and adapts desktop, so everything you need is one click away. Additionally it's blazing fast!

Getting started

At first you will not have any icons on your main screen. They will show up there over time. So at the beginning you should use normal menu to run apps. It can be a bit annoying, but give this launcher a chance. Use it for few days and you will see that you go to all apps list less and less, and you can do many things much quicker than using other launchers. After one month this launcher will act as it reads your mind!

Details

On top of the screen nearest calendar events are shown. Today's events are marked with red. If there are no events, then calendar is not shown at all.

Middle section contains shortcuts to apps that are likely to be used at this moments. MindReed tracks date and time of running each app (locally, nothing is sent to any server, ever) and based on the patterns it finds, it shows right apps. So you're likely to see bus tracking app in the morning, then calendar and mail apps during work hours, games and entertainment apps in the evening. Additionaly it will track day of week so if you use some app to find clubs every Friday night MindReed will show it to you just when you need it.

Bottom section holds calling features. Green phone icon launches your default dialer. To the right of this icon there are up to three most frequently dialed contats during last few weeks. They can be used to instantly call any of these contacts by clicking. If you stop calling one of frequent contacts, it will be automatically switched with another one that was called more frequent.

Permissions justification:
- direct calling - needed for shortcuts to most frequently called contacts. MindReed Launcher never calls anybody on its own
- read contact list and call log - needed for knowing which contacts to show on the frequently called list
- read calendar - needed for calendar widget on the top
