Order Pad builds its products and table file directly from the interface to DPOS SQL, Datasym’s touchscreen POS software designed to run on POS hardware running a Windows OS.
The application allows a waiter/waitress to replace the traditional notepad and instead enter new or add to existing orders on tables within the Datasym POS solution. Text can be added to personalise selections as well as the use of popups to cover cooking instructions or add-ons e.g. Well Done, Rare, Medium or Chips, Jacket Potato, Rice. Fractional counts are also supported meaning half pints, large portions etc. are created automatically as an additional line on the Order Pad. The order can be reviewed and added to until correct and then submitted to the system via a send button. The live tables are then updated and kitchen prints produced via the WiFi connectivity linking the Order Pad into the Datasym POS system as if it was another standard POS terminal.
Order Pad from Datasym can easily be added to existing DPOS SQL systems with minimal data maintenance required. The only mandatory changes are in the Stockade SQL back office software (V2.50 or above) where departments will need to be edited to support an Order Pad Category of Drinks, Food or Other. If left blank items linked to that department will not be available on the Order Pad. There is also an additional field on the POS tab of a product in Stockade to ‘Exclude from Order Pad’ should you wish to override the department settings.
The Order Pad is available as a free download so you are able to install on as many Android 4.2 and above devices as you would like to use. A DPOS SQL Order Pad licence must be purchased from your Datasym Reseller which will support the maximum number of Order Pads you wish to use at any one time. It is possible to remove all device registrations within the POS and use different devices between each session so you are able to utilise all of your existing Android based smartphones and devices.
Order Pad is available on both tablet and smaller format Android devices allowing you to mix and match as best fits your business.
