For some people, crime is nothing. They go about their day, completely ignoring it. For others, crime is the worst thing that could ever happen in general. They dedicate their lives to fighting it.
And then, there's you. The middle point between the average citizen and law enforcement. In other words? The criminal.
CW: The basics
In Stom Studio's CW, you play as a criminal on the run from police forces that would like nothing better than to catch you and throw you in jail for the rest of your life. But beware: countless challenges will come your way. You can't simply get through by pressing your trigger finger whenever you want. No, that's not this kind of game. Instead, CW is the kind of game where you'll need speed, strength and agility.
But for all that, accuracy and evasiveness are the most important aspects of the game. If you can't avoid all the enemies and mooks trying to blast through you--if you can't succeed at running away from their bullets and their violence and their anger--then you're probably screwed. Think of your favorite, Nintendo Hard platformers--Mega Man, Cuphead, I Wanna Be the Guy, etc., etc.--but imagine them as platforms. That's the kind of game you'll get with CW. It's not just about blasting back at the police and resisting their efforts, although that's another very important part of the game: you have to actively avoid them to save your own hide.
You can update your arsenal and inventory by getting weapons from the shop. Guns are classic and traditional, and are available in the game, but a whole host of other weapons is available too: axes, grenades, axes, and an AK-47 assault rifle. You can also equip items and accessories to improve your stats. Power boosts are available as well, and will increase your amount of in-game money and your HP or health.
Enemies use different strategies to try to defeat you, and each enemy has its own type. Types include helicopters, snipers, static enemies, patrollers, and boom enemies, who use bombs. During your travels and chases, obstacles will also block your path. Drums full of poison can infect you, explosions can occur in both normal and large ranges, and damage can be dealt to all targets in range, including both you and your enemies. Barrels and metal drums obstacles will also make you trip up and take damage. Trucks can also be an obstacle--but they can also be transit vehicles, which you'll use to speed from place to place as you seek refuge from the police forces.
The immersive graphics will contribute so much to the experience so that you'll feel like you're really there, avoiding police forces and blasting at them. The audio and sound effects are equally immersive, and will sound whenever certain in-game events are triggered.
Hack the maps (and the game)
A cool feature of CW is that you can generate maps from setting the parameters and letting them run free. Parameters tht you can modify include ground position, position collider, and positions of trees. You can randomize the position of trees and houses, to make as many future surprise obstacles, as you like, and assign a level to every map. When a map is fully developed, enemies will spawn, and you won't be able to beat the map until you defeat them all. You can also create a map using the UIMapCreator, in which an image will be represented in the level. Maps like this always have 4 missions to beat.
You can easily let a map be created on its own too, without modifying anything, if you use the default values. Other than that, you can make the ground up yourself and, in terms of settings, you can save, delete and load your maps for as many playthrough as you want; you can also test them, to get a feel of how they work, without taking damage. Also, using the GameObject "Map Creator" focus, you can choose tilesets, while the Map prefab allows you to edit your map, camera angles (you can make the camera stationary or have it move, in which case it
