Ust. Khalid Basalamah lahir di Makassar, 1 Mei 1975 dengan nama lengkap Khalid Zeed Abdullah Basalamah. Gelar basalamah yang ada di akhir nama beliau diambil dari nama marga. Marga Basalamah merupakan salah satu nama marga yang diambil dari Arab Hadramaut yang merujuk pada nama keluarga keturunan bangsa Arab. Yang berasal dari Hadramaut Yaman. Letaknya berada di Jazirah Arab bagian selatan. Penamaan marga dipilih berdasarkan kabilah, tempat, asal, sejarah dan juga kebiasaan serta sifat nenek moyang tersebut.

Studi S1, beliau selesaikan di Universitas Madinah. Sementara gelar Magister, beliau selesaikan di Universitas Muslim Indonesia. Dan gelar doktornya diperoleh di Universitas Tun Abdul Razaq Malaysia.

Beliau merupakan salah satu ustadz yang sangat berpegang teguh dengan ajaran yang telah disampaikan oleh Nabi Muhammad SAW yang disebarkan oleh Sahabat, Tabiiin dan juga para Imam empat.

Salah satu metode dakwah ( ceramah ) yang beliau sampaikan adalah dengan mengupas beberapa kitab yang mengandung beberapa dalil shahih dan juga bisa dipertanggung jawabkan sanad nya. Diantara beberapa kitab yang telah beliau sampaikan kepada setiap jamaah yang hadir dalam setiap majelis beliau adalah :

Kitab Bulughul Marom - Kitab ini merupakan kumpulan hadits tematik yang menjadi sumber rujukan pengambilan dalil bagi permasalahan fiqih yang ada di Nusantara. Kitab ini merupakan salah satu diantara sekian banyak kitab yang sudah teruji kadar kesahihannya.

Kitab Minhajul Muslim - Kitab yang satu ini merupakan karya ringkas yang ditulis oleh beberapa ulama yang ada di Madinah dan juga Makkah. Kitab ini menceritakan segala macam hal yang berkaitan dengan pemahaman Islam secara Kaffah dan juga menyeluruh dengan bersandar pada Al quran sebagai sumber utama dan juga mengambil hadits sebagai sumber kedua.
