Paper cranes have become the most recognizable symbol for origami and have motivated many people not only to learn about this beautiful art form, but also learn how to make origami. This article offers some tips on how people can start making origami, and for those who already have the knowledge, how to develop your origami skills.

The word origami comes from Japanese words oru (fold) and us (paper), and although not all paper folding styles come from Japan, they are all now united under this title. Origami is defined as the creation of art through various folds and folding patterns. There are some basic folds that are used repeatedly in most patterns, and it is important to study these basic folds to learn how to create origami. Models made of square paper are sold in various colors and sizes. It is also possible to find foil-supported origami paper, two-color origami paper, and originally printed origami paper.
