Nasida Ria is a modern Qasida Indonesian music group consisting of 9 women from Semarang, Central Java. The group was formed in 1975 managed by H. H. M Zain and Zain Mudrikah followed by Choliq Zain. Nasida Ria is one of the oldest modern Qasida group in Indonesia.
Nasida Ria was formed in Semarang, Central Java in 1975 by H. Mudrikah Zain, a teacher qira'at; Zain previously experienced with a mixed group of nine siswinya Assabab gather to form a musical group Qasida: Mudrikah Zain, Mutoharoh, Rien Jamain, Umi Kholifah, Musyarofah, Nunung, Alfiyah, Kudriyah, and Nur Ain. At first the music group is only used as a musical instrument tambourine. After the mayor of Semarang Soeparto Tjakrajoeda Iman, who is also a fan of them, donate an organ to help Nasida Ria, and support them to also facilitate music lessons, they then obtain and use a bass guitar, violin, and guitar.
Nasida Ria debut album, Alabaladil Makabul, created three years later and marketed by Ira Puspita Records. Their song is based on propaganda and draw inspiration from the Arab music. Their next three albums using the same theme and many Arab berbahas. Upon the advice of clerics Ahmad Buchori Masruri that the song they will be more effective if everything is in Indonesian language, style Nasida Ria amended; Masruri also wrote songs for them with the pseudonym Abu Ali Haidar.
