USE AND VALIDITY OF COURSES According to law no. 9394/96, Decree no. 5.154 / 04 and EEC Resolution 14/97 (Indication EEC 14/97) state that courses called 'free' do not require prior authorization for operation or subsequent recognition by the competent Education Council.

Curso Livre - Lei nº 9.394 - National Education Guidelines and Bases became part of Basic Education, as Professional Education, it is the non-formal education modality of variable duration, aimed at providing the worker with knowledge that allows him to re-professionalize, qualify up and update yourself for work.

Definition of Free Courses: In addition to the basic, high school, technical and higher education modalities, Brazilian legislation regulated the Free Course category, which serves the population with the objective of offering rapid professionalization for various areas of activity in the labor market. Schools that offer these types of courses are entitled to issue a certificate to the student in accordance with Law No. 9394/96 and Decree No. 2.208 / 97.
Cooperatives and self-employed professionals can also teach such courses and issue a certificate. There is no specific limit for the number of hours, which can vary between a few hours or several months.

Art 42 of Law nº 9.394 / 96 (National Education Guidelines and Bases) and Law nº 11.741 / 08 dealt with Professional Education: it is a non-formal type of variable duration education, aimed at providing the worker with knowledge that allows him to professionalize yourself, qualify and update yourself for the job.
