Kiddo streamlines communication between parents and teachers. It is aimed to be used in daycare centers and schools up to K-6 level. By using Kiddo, parents will be able to check on their child’s progress in school in real time. Parents using Kiddo can see check-in and check-out times for their child, their activities in class, see photos and videos of their child, and keep in constant contact with the teacher. After school, parents can help their child by concentrating on topics the teacher would have recommended by the end of that school day.
Teachers using Kiddo would be able to write private or public notes about a child, they can take photos and short videos and tag children in these photos/videos.
The app will have two different UIs, one for the parents and one for the teachers.
• Digital sign-in, attendance, and sign-out:
Teacher would sign-in/check-in when a student enters the class, would check them out when they left.
• Daily reports and assessments:
o Teacher would live update the parents of their child’s activity, taking photos of videos if needed.
o Quick one sentence updates about what the child is doing/has done or learned that day
o What did the child had for lunch, which snacks he enjoyed, which children does he like to play with, when did he take a nap?
• By the end of every day the teacher would tell the parents things the child needs to practice that night, sort of like the homework for the child.
• Kiddo will provide a private area for the teacher to communicate to parents a child’s assessment and progress. This could be done through text or voice memos/notes.
• Kiddo will work on all devices, Android (phones and tablets), iOS/Apple (phones and tablets), and in the web browser.
• App should allow people who are approved by parents to access certain parts of the accounts, i.e. allow grandma to see pictures of her grandkid in real-time.
• Teachers should be able to record daily events. For example, what type of food a child is eating, when they go putty, and when they take a nap.
• Teacher should be able to schedule and share events with parents.
• Teacher should be able to send reminders to parents.
• Parents should be able to share photos, videos and audio files with anybody through communication and social media platforms.
