Al-Ajurrumiyah or Jurumiyah (Arabic: الآجرومية) is a small book on Arabic grammar from the 7th century H / 13 AD The book is compiled by linguists from Morocco named Abu Abd Allah Sidi Muhammad ibn Daud aka Ibn al-Shanhaji Ajurrum (d. 1324 CE). Formulas basic lessons in classical Arabic written in rhyming form to make it easier to memorize. Arab communities in the book became one of the early books were to be memorized than the Qur'an.

Among traditional schools, Kitab al-Ajurrumiyyah Matan is a textbook on science nahwu (Arabic grammar) is very popular. Almost every students studying at a traditional boarding schools started learning about the Arabic language through this book. This book is a book of standards that are the basis of learning Arabic. In practice in the pesantren world, the book is often called Jurrumiyyah. Naming is not exactly the same as the original name of the book, because the book's full title is al-Muqaddimah al-Ajurrumiyyah Mabadi fi 'Ilm al-Arabiyyah.

Although al-Ajurrumiyyah so well known among schools, but the author of the book itself is not so well-known among schools. That's because in practice at the school, students often only presented about the lessons contained in the book that is being studied. Pupils are rarely introduced by the clerics or preachers with the author of the book they are studying. It was fair as well as the clerics or the preachers themselves have not necessarily know exactly who the author of the book.

As the name implies, it is the book of al-Ajurrumiyyah Muqaddimah (introduction) about science nahwu written by Ibn Adjurrum while in Mecca. It is very simple and basic. Therefore, this book also needs to be given a more in-depth explanations when an nahwu science students wanted to learn more. For that reason, the book is ultimately a lot briefed by many scholars, up to thirty books explanation. These explanations later merged with al-Ajurrumiyyah book. In Arabic literature, books that explain to a another book called the book of commentary.

In addition to given an explanation or reviews of the book al-Ajurrumiyyah also summarized by other scholars into strands temple (nazham). No fewer than four books containing strands temple that comes from the book of al-Ajurrumiyyah this. Book a string of the most famous temple is authored by Muhammad ibn Abi al-Ghalawi or known as Ubaid Rabbih.
