Virgin of Guadalupe and Advent is a Marian apparition of the Catholic Church of Mexican origin, whose image has its principal place of worship in the Basilica of Guadalupe, located on the slopes of the hill of Tepeyac, north of Mexico City.

According to the Mexican oral tradition, and historical documents described by the Vatican and others found around the world in different files, it is believed that the Virgin Mary appeared four times the Indian Juan Diego san on the hill of Tepeyac and a fifth time to Juan Bernardino, uncle of Juan Diego. The guadalupano known as Nican Mopohua story tells that after the first apparition, the Virgin told Juan Diego to appear before the first bishop of Mexico, Juan de Zumarraga. Juan Diego in the last apparition of the Virgin, and by order of this, he took in his ayate some flowers cut at Tepeyac. Juan Diego unfurled his tilma before the bishop Juan de Zumarraga, revealing the image of the Virgin Mary, brown and mestizo features.
