Slipknot is a Nu Metal wing band from Des Moines, Iowa formed in September 1995.

The band was formed by percussionist Shawn Crahan and bassist Paul Gray. After several replacements, the band has had regular members since 1999: Sid Wilson, Joey Jordison, Paul Gray, Chris Fehn, Jim Root, Craig Jones, Shawn "Clown" Crahan, Mick Thomson and Corey Taylor.

But the bassist Paul Gray died on 24 May 2010 due to an overdose and was replaced by former guitarist Donnie Steele from 2011-2014. Joey Jordison left the band on December 12, 2013 for no apparent reason followed by Donnie Steele's exit during the fifth album recording session.5: The Gray Chapter with a reason to focus on marriage. Now Slipknot touring alongside substitute musician Alessandro "Vman" Venturella on bass and Jay Weinberg on drums. Slipknot is known as a band that always attracts attention, aggressive, energetic and chaotic music style in stage show performances. The band quickly became successful after releasing their debut album in 1999. On the second album in 2001, Iowa, made the band more popular. After that Slipknot returned in 2004 with his album Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses). In 2008 with the fourth album, All Hope Is Gone, which debuted on the Billboard 200 chart. After a long break, Slipknot released their fifth album.5: The Chapter Gray, in 2014. The band has released a live album titled 9.0: Live, a compilation album titled Antennas to Hell, and four live DVDs. Slipknot became headlined in UK (United Kingdom) in the Download Festival three times.
