The King James, also called Bible of Cassiodorus Queen or Bear Bible, is one of the first translations of the Bible into Castilian. The work was done from the translation of the original texts in Hebrew and Greek and was published in Basel, Switzerland on 28 September 1569. His translator was Cassiodorus Queen, Spanish religious converted to Protestantism. He is nicknamed King James for making Cipriano de Valera's first review of it in 1602.

The King James was widely publicized during the Protestant Reformation of the sixteenth century. Today, the Reina-Valera 1960 is one of the bibles in Spanish most used by most of the Christian churches stemming from the Reformation (including evangelical churches) as well as other groups of Christian faith, as the Church Seventh-day Adventists, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Gideons International and other non-denominational Christians.

The "Reina Valera 1960 revision" (RVR60) was conducted by a group of biblical scholars from various Hispanic countries from various Christian denominations. The review commission took into account the comments made by pastors and lay people from Spain and Latin America. All this without changing the basic meaning of the biblical message and also preserving the style and cadence Reina.15 text translation type RVR60 is the formal equivalence.
