"Youth Youth research in the digital world: a research program and action from the gender perspective".

The "All Free" application has been developed from the proposals of the group of young people who have participated in the Youth project investigating youth in ICT, to report on gender violence in digital environments.

In the field of social sciences, the study of youth took relevance from the second half of the eighties with the incidence of urban popular youth groups in society. Linked to the theoretical-methodological perspective of cultural studies, AND CARRIED OUT BY ADULTS investigations in recent years in Latin America they have focused on the analysis of youth regarding their social participation, social movements, education, gender , youth cultures and cultural consumption. One area of particular interest has been the study of media practices and the construction of identities, which is not fortuitous but responds to the close relationship young people have with current information and communication technologies, especially the Internet.

The project addressed a novel and highly topical both locally and international issues.

It focused on the investigation of both positive and negative experiences in the use of ICT, particularly social networks by young people of both genders aged between 15 and 18 years.

In particular the following topics were investigated:

Internet activities undertaken
Uses and mode of participation in social networks
Content production and supports privileged
Security and privacy, rights awareness
Attitudes and reactions towards violence online

It was based on a methodological approach based on participatory action research in which knowledge creation in these issues with the production of communication and education resources developed from voice, interests and needs of young people themselves is articulated.
