In this post, I am going to show you how to install Flashlight Cop on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Before you start, you will need to download the APK/XAPK installer file, you can find download button on top of this page. Save it to easy-to-find location.

Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview of how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your Windows PC and then you can install applications and use it - you see you're playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.

Step By Step Guide To Install Flashlight Cop using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen
  3. Once installed, click "Flashlight Cop" icon on the home screen to start using, it'll work like a charm :D

I designed this app just for practice in coding. This flashlight is very basic and easy to use. Built with you in mind and what I mean is, this app is barely 15MB in size. So, if you are running with limited space on your phone, this app shouldn't be an issue especially if you want a stylish looking flashlight.

Permissions Explanation

Keeping transparency at the top of the list of things to communicate first, along with these new updates/features. There is some security risk, because of the components used to program these types of apps.

The warnings you will get:

1. Take pictures and videos. This application utilizes the flash from your onboard camera only. Nothing more.

2. Modify or delete the contents of your SD card & Read the contents of your SD card. The long answer to the "WHY" question is this. Your phone is a mini PC right? Think in terms of RAM and ROM. RAM is a type of volatile memory. Data in RAM is not permanently written. When you power off your computer the data stored in RAM is deleted. ROM is a type of non- volatile memory. Data in ROM is permanently written and is not erased when you power off your computer. This app uses the RAM method meaning, it writes the location to memory for a short period until the app is exited. Then it is deleted from memory automatically.

Why this design? To assist in emergency situations. The person may need to use the Flashlight, Make phone call to emergency agencies, all while finding their location.
