3DMOP is an app that lets you show your 3D models with textures and animations without having to connect to the internet.
Just drag your files to a specific folder (specified in the app instructions) and you're all set!
This is a beta submission so this text is going to keep changing and the app is going to keep getting updated, since I'm doing this just in my free time it won't be as often as if I were able to work on it full-time.
Features as-is right now:
- Import Unity Asset Bundles
- Import pre-triangulated OBJs (exports from Maya 2017 aren't working at the moment, Blender 2.7 exports good)
- Import pre-triangulated or all-quads FBXs ASCII files (Maya, 3DSMax, Cinema4D tested good so far, Blender 2.7 seems not to export them the same way)
- Textures
- Shaders and matcaps to choose from (thanks to Jean Moreno for his free pack)
- Animations (Unity Asset Bundle)
- HDRI
- Darken / illuminate background
- Light pre-sets
- Save settings per model
Features next on the list (to be done before launch):
- Import your own skyboxes
- More and better available skyboxes
- Improve optimization
- The wire-frame should follow the animation (as it is right now it instances two models, they should be playing the same frame of animation at all times)
Other neat features that'll be added later on [NOT included with the free version]:
- Be able to download directly from the app from Dropbox or Google Drive
- Be able to create your own light presets in-app
- VR compatibilty
- Other cool shaders
- Scan your business card with a QR code to load your model with AR (thanks TeriyakiStyle)
- Your suggestion, maybe ?
- A lighter less robust version if people want it ?
F.A.Q.
=> What's the difference with Sketchfab / Marmoset ?
- You don't have to go online to view your models
- You can change the shader
- You don't have to pay to use your own skybox
- It's for your phone / tablet
- You can import Unity Asset Bundles (which means possibility of importing particle systems)
- It's made in Unity so you see it in-engine
=> Is this like Cinema4D/Maya/Blender? / Can I model/animate/create?
No. This is NOT to make models. This is NOT to animate. This is just to showcase. You need models that have already been made in order for this app to be useful to you. You get the models in OBJ or FBX and you can see them in the app.
=> Do I need a computer?
No. If you already have your models in FBX or OBJ you just need to have them on your phone in a specific folder (specified in the app's instructions that can be found when you open it). You can either download them to your phone through internet (from your Dropbox, Drive, whatever) or you can use a USB cable to get them from your PC to your phone.
=> Why is this so buggy? Taking so much time?
I am one person that is completely economically broke and with not much energy. This is an app I work on for FREE on my free time. I do not get anything out of this. Yet I still need to work to pay bills, the bank, food, etc. If you'd like to help out so this can be finished faster you can send me some gifts through PayPal (paypal.me/erikamoyat) and I will forever be grateful.
