The Bosch Driving App turns your smartphone into an infotainment system. The voice control allows fast and secure access to many functions of your smartphone at any time, without distracting from the view of the street. In addition, you benefit from digital, Bosch-owned security features, such as the Wrong-Way Driver Warner ("Ghost Driver" protection) while driving. The Bosch Driving App combines a wide range of functions from the fields of navigation, music, communication and contacts in one package.
Popular apps such as WhatsApp, Spotify, Facebook Messenger, Deezer, Google Play Music, Radio.de, Soundcloud and Audible can be controlled by voice using the Bosch Driving App.
To use the Bosch Driving App, you need a smartphone with Android 5.1 or higher and an active data connection. For safe use of the app while driving, we also recommend a cell phone holder.
Features at a glance:
Voice control
The voice control allows you to safely and conveniently use your smartphone while driving. The activation of the voice control is either via a so-called "high five" gesture, the movement of the palm just before the phone display, using the proximity sensors of the phone, or by touch.
Navigation
Navigation with turn-by-turn directions taking into account the current traffic situation, as well as alternative recommendations in the event of a changed traffic situation.
Navigation destinations can be set directly on the map by a long click on the desired destination. Alternatively, of course, the text or voice input, as well as the navigation to addresses from the address book are available. POIs can be searched by language within the categories petrol stations, restaurants and car parks or by selecting the corresponding symbol.
At large intersections and roads, the available and the lanes to be used are displayed for better orientation.
Navigation is available throughout Europe, but can cause data transfer costs due to the lack of offline maps.
Messenger
The following messaging services are supported by the Bosch Driving App: WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, Threema, Signal and SMS. Incoming messages can be read out and directly answered via dictation function.
music
Voice control or individual tiles allow you to control the basic functions of many music apps like Spotify, Google Play Music, Deezer, Samsung Music, Soundcloud, audible, VLC or radio.de directly from the Bosch Driving App.
With the tab "Experimental" in the section "Music Setup" you can now put widgets for many players on your homescreen, which we currently do not officially support, but in many cases still work.
Contacts
Voice control, the tile for your contacts or individual favorites gives you access to your address book. From here, different phone numbers can be dialed or a stored address can be set as the navigation destination.
Bosch Wrong-Way Driver Warner
As a user of the Bosch Driving App, you're part of a growing community of users that helps minimize the risk of meeting a ghost driver and benefits from the service itself.
When Bosch's cloud-based solution detects that a member of the community's vehicle is driving in the wrong direction on the highway, all the other surrounding users, as well as the wrong-way driver, are warned within seconds, faster than other technologies used today.
