Also the Koran (seventh century), sacred book of Islam, presented as Mother of Jesus (Isa) under its Arabic name, Maryam or Miriam.

The presence of Mary in the beginnings of Christianity was not a single witness, but of a qualified person and in more than one sense only, excluding share in a key moment in the history of salvation, the incarnation of Jesus Christ (Luke 1: 26-38; Luke 2: 1-19), and co-sharer in two others, the crucifixion and death of Jesus (John 19: 25-27), and the formation of the first Christian community praying immediately before the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (Acts 1:14) .3
