IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE A DEVICE WITH ANDROID VERSION BELOW 6.0:
In order to work, the app needs permissions to access the following:
PHONE CALLS: To retrieve your device information and identity and display it in the Device Info section in the app. This is also important for us for limiting Smartphone Diagnostics to only Vodafone customers.
CAMERA: For checking not only what camera types (front, back camera) are supported on your device, but also if they are functioning well.
MICROPHONE: Allows the app to check if the microphone is working properly.
LOCATION: Needed for running the GPS tests.
STORAGE: Used for checking your device storage and memory.
NETWORK COMMUNICATION: Allows the app to offer information about the network connections, such as Wi-Fi.
BLUETOOTH: Allows the app to check the current status of the Bluetooth settings on your device.
APPLICATION INFORMATION: Allows the app to retrieve information about the applications installed on your device, and can help you to find out if these are harmful, if they crash frequently or are unused.
BATTERY: Allows the app to check what the current settings are on your device screen, as these settings might affect your battery life if they are not optimised.
AUDIO SETTINGS: Allows the app to run sound specific tests, which gives you the status of each sound setting and if necessary, some recommended settings. Also, by allowing this permission, the app can test additional functions, such as ringer, playing media files, vibration, etc.
