Step By Step Guide To Install Transnet Risk App using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.

The Transnet Risk App is a corporate tool, available to all TFR Employees as a real time hazard assessment tool. Its correct use in the organisation has the ability to enhance current operational safety and risk processes, promoting safety in the workplace for all.

The Risk App is the product of a collaborative project between TFR Risk Management, ICT and Safety. This solely in house built App allowed for the development of a customisable tool which features a Generic Hazard Assessment module specific to the TFR environment.

The main features of the Risk Mobile App are:
- A simplified, easy to use, on the go hazards assessment tool;
- Customised prepopulated hazards and possible controls for quick identification and selection;
- A quick and easy method to rate hazards by consequence and likelihood;
- ‘High’ rated hazards escalation to line managers via email or SMS for their immediate attention and resolution;
- Ability to access previously completed and saved assessments;
- Generation of a hazard assessment report, with detailed reports available for printing from IsoMetrix;
- Geo-location, the place the Risk App is completed is easily identified.

Additional feature is a free text field to allow the user to identify and capture additional controls that might not be in the App. Once these newly identified controls have been verified by the subject specialists these can be added to the evolving control framework.
Helps users to undertake a quick hazard assessment with easy escalation, making completed hazard assessments readily visible and available to line managers so on site work conditions are known and acknowledged.
