JavaFX full course of 2018.

JavaFX is a cross-platform toolkit for creating graphical applications on the Java platform.

JavaFX allows you to create applications with rich graphic intensive due to the use of graphics hardware acceleration and GPU capabilities.

With JavaFX, you can create programs for different operating systems: Windows, MacOS, Linux and a variety of devices: desktops, smartphones, tablets, embedded devices, TV. The app will work on JavaFX wherever installed Java Runtime Environment (JRE).

JavaFX provides a great opportunity when compared with a number of other similar platforms, in particular, compared with Swing. This is a large set of controls, and the ability to work with the media, two-dimensional and three-dimensional graphics, a declarative way to describe the interface using FXML markup language, the ability to interface styling via CSS, integration with Swing and more.

JavaFX story actually began in the first half of the 2000s, when a developer named Chris Oliver (Chris Oliver), being an employee of the company SeeBeyond, designed to create a new language GUIs F3 (Froms Follows Functions). Subsequently, in 2005, SeeBeyond was acquired by Sun Microsystems (which at that time developed the Java language prior to purchase by Oracle). F3 was renamed JavaFX, and Chris Oliver continued to work on a new platform already under the company Sun. And in May 2007, Sun Microsystems publicly announced a new platform for creating graphical applications. A December 4, 2008 released JavaFX 1.0 SDK.

After the acquisition of Sun Microsystems Oracle company it was announced in 2010, and advanced to the release of JavaFX 2.0 version in 2011. In the first version of JavaFX is actually skiptovy language. In the second version has been completely changed approach. The scripting language has been removed, and the platform has been completely rewritten from scratch. Now create an application could be using any language that supports the JVM. new API, integration with Swing and many other things were added.

The next important milestones in the development of the platform began to release JavaFX JavaFX 8 and 9 in particular, which was released in September 2017, together with Java 9 and brought to the platform modularity.

At the moment, JavaFX is the preferred way to create graphical applications using the Java programming language, which replaced the AWT and Swing. Also worth noting is that to work with JavaFX instead of Java is theoretically possible to use any programming language that supports JVM.
