The ideal utility for a network administrator or power user who could benefit from the ability to view network performance in real-time, all from a mobile device.

Upon entering an IP address, hostname, or domain, the app will run a traceroute, and then provide you with a color-coded heatmap that gives you insight into how the network infrastructure between your device and the server is performing. This makes it extremely easy to see where the weak link in the chain may be, such as an overloaded server or poorly optimized route. Knowing this is key to a quick response to network-related issues. This tool was designed to be similar to the command line tool MTR.

Even if you are not a networking professional, this tool can be a unique and straightforward way to understand the basics of networking, and can help identify whether an internet outage is really your ISP's fault, or whether your router simply needs a reset.

This is a free app supported by banner ads, however if you find the app useful, please consider purchasing HyperTrace Pro, which is ad free and includes the ability to save reports.

** NOTE: The core functionality is dependent on the presence and capability of the "ping" binary provided by your ROM. On some older devices, the ping command has been known to report "unknown host" for servers that otherwise have no issues. Please test your device with the free version before purchasing the pro version. **
