Folklore that develops in Indonesia has its own characteristics in the form of original legends and names of places, lakes, mountains, or sites and other historical objects. The existence of folklore in each of these regions certainly helped enrich the repertoire of Indonesian traditional culture.

Sage: Sage is a fairy tale telling a character related to history. Sage usually spreads by word of mouth so that over time there are additional imaginary stories. Examples of Sage Fairy Tales: The tale of "Jaka Tingkir".

Parable: Parabel is a fairy tale whose stories contain educational values or short and simple stories that contain jarat or wisdom as a way of life. Examples of Parable Tales: The Story of "Si Malin Kundang".
