A lot of people have been told that mold requires a fair amount of moisture to grow.

This is because places that have high humidity seem to have more mold infestations.

But the truth is that mold only requires moisture to start growing; it doesn't need much to keep growing.

Mold is actually rather resilient, and once it starts growing, it's hard to stop.

Mold is like a boulder on a hill...

It takes some work to get it going, but once you do, there's no stopping it.

Mold is common in areas of high humidity, or after a flood, or any significant exposure to water.

But it can also start from smaller things.

For instance, you could have a small crack in your bathroom tile so that every time you shower, water leaks into the wood supporting your shower.

You would never notice it until was too late, and you would have to replace everything in order to get rid of the mold.

Mold can also hide.

You could have a leaky pipe that starts a mold infestation.

And you may never notice the leak because its only a tiny drip, but over time mold would start to multiply.

To further complicate matters, you may never detect the mold because it would start growing inside the pipes.

If you don't spot mold early, it can be a nightmare to get rid of.

Sometimes you have to remove entire sections of a room in order to eradicate it from your home.

And since it can hide it can be extremely difficult to locate in order to remove.

Mold poisoning can even kill in the most severe circumstances.
